Old Cowtown Museum

When you step onto Cowtown’s historic dirt roads, it’s like stepping into a world that has been frozen in time.

Walk about the streets freely and explore the historic homes and shops and mingle with the costumed interpreters as if you’ve just stepped into 1860.  There are fifty four historic buildings at Cowtown located along the Arkansas River.  Many of the buildings are original and have been relocated to Cowtown from Wichita and surrounding areas. The relocation of many of these structures protected them from demolition and preserved them for the future.

Cowtown showcases over 10,000 vintage artifacts, from period textiles and furnishings to tools and even artwork. The buildings also feature modern amenities such as air conditioning, heat, and wheelchair ramps.
